    Hi all,

I, 22F, haven’t read in years and now I’m desperately seeking recommendations to get back into it. I used to be an avid reader, multiple books a week and living at Barnes and Noble. I loved young adult fiction, specifically slice of life & romance/young love books. My favorite series ever was To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before. I also enjoyed Every Last Word and Sad Perfect a lot.

If it helps, my favorite show is Gilmore Girls and I loved following along with Rory’s love life as she transitioned into adulthood. I actually enjoy some occasional fictional elements such as time travel, ghosts (that no one realizes are ghosts) and elements like those presented in the plot twist of Every Last Word, but nothing overwhelmingly fantastical.

I am wanting to get back into reading but I need recommendations. I feel too old to read the books I used to, usually “young adult fiction” but I haven’t loved my friend’s recommendations. I’m not big on horror, and I don’t think I’d like fantasy books much, both of which are the most common recs. Fourth Wing has been a consistent recommendation and I just can’t seem to find an interest in it.

I don’t mind sexual content but I also don’t want anything TOO intense. I prefer female protagonists, I would like to start with shorter books. I don’t like books heavy on death/grieving and suicidal ideation due to personal reasons. I have also seen a lot of midlife crisis type of books and I just can’t relate enough to get into them. I don’t love corporate stress plot lines much either, I end up getting stressed alongside the protagonist 😅

If anyone has any suggestions, please let me know. I know I’m picky but I am open to any suggestions at all. Ignore my poor descriptions please.
