I’m looking for books that focus on depicting single-gendered societies, or societies with such a heavy gender imbalance that things are dramatically different than they are IRL. Something like “Dune” wouldn’t quite fit, because even though it’s got lots of single-gender societies, they’re not the main focus of the series.
Examples of the types of books I’m thinking of:
“I Who Have Never Known Men” by Jacqueline Harpman
“Ammonite” by Nicola Griffith
“Manhunt” by Gretchen Felker-Martin
“The Beauty” by Aliya Whitely
Extra bonus points if it depicts an all-male society, because I haven’t found many of those.
