“The Bean Trees” by Barbara Kingsolver. About a young woman who decides to leave the only place she’s known for somewhere else. She finds new friendships and self respect and a new surprise role as a mom. Well narrated by CJ Critt. 09:20 duration.
There is a follow up book if you enjoyed this.
Also. I picked up a random sale title a week ago called “The Light on Farralon Island” by Jen Wheeler. You might find this worth consideration. It’s about a woman in the mid 1800’s who’s trying to run/hide from a troubled past. I have a few more hours left but I’m really enjoying the characters, writing style, storyline, and narration. 10:45 duration. Historical fiction.

My personal favorites are two wildly different stories.
Howls Moving Castle by Diana Wynn Jones. It’s a fantasy romancey story. Really cute and funny.
The Great Taos Bank Robbery by Tony Hillerman. It’s a collection of short stories. The first two are super funny. The rest are Navajo myths and stories.
Also if you like classic literature I personally like Pride and Prejudice, Sherlock Holmes, The Count of Monte Cristo, and A Christmas Carol. All of which you can listen to for free on LibriVox.

My favourite road trip book I’ve read was The Martian Chronicles by Ray Bradbury.
