I am am avid reader and audio book listener. I like just about all kinds of fiction, but I find myself the most engaged with books that have “abnormal” or unexpected narrators, such as:
Memoirs of an Imaginary Friend – Matthew Dicks
Hollow Kingdom -Kira Jane Buxton
Klara and the Sun – Kazuo Ishiguro
Sea of Rust -C. Robert Cargill
Remarkably Bright Creatures -Shelby van Pelt (chapters/sections from the octopus’ POV)
The Last Dog on Earth -Adrian J. Walker (chapters from the dog’s POV)
Wrath – Sharon Moalem (sections from the rat’s POV)
I also enjoy books with (most likely) neurodivergent narrators, like:
Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time – Mark Haddon
Lessons in Chemistry -Bonnie Garmus
Odd Billy Todd -NC Reed
Let me know if you have any other suggestions for books like these! Thank you!
