My girlfriend loves books and I’m trying to get into it.

I’m not really a book guy. I’ve never read any books other than from school. Me and my girlfriend have very little in common so I was hoping to find a book or something. I don’t really like a fantasy or romantic books. I’m more for something that’s deep and real. Maybe someone that loses someone and goes on a redemption arc. I hope im not making a fool out of myself here😅. Just something that isn’t fairy land and doesn’t have to end well. If you have any suggestions feel free to comment!
