I usually borrow audio books through Libby and my local library, but sometimes I’ll turn on Audible for a month so I can get a new release or popular book. It feels like every time I turn to Audible, which could be years in-between, they have some sort of new pricing model and the one it is now is terrible.

For $12.99 a month, I get 1 credit. This credit can be used on anything, but you only get 1 a month. After that, you’re only allowed access to the books that don’t cost a credit, or buy more credits. That seemed fine, at first, but I finished the book I signed up for and cant seem to find anything on Audible that isn’t priced at 1 credit. When you browse, there is no “no credit” sub category, nor can you go into a genre and click a box, or something, to filter out the books that cost credits.

So, essentially, this subscription audio service will give you one book a month for $12.99. I might as well just buy the audio. I listen to books way faster than one a month.
