I’m looking for recommendations on science, space, nature, all that sort of thing, but importantly, written in the style similar to Bill Bryson (I’ve read / listened to all of his books) with a short history of nearly everything thoroughly entertaining and just the style I’m looking for. Thankyou, I hope I get some cracking ideas from you

What if by Randall Munroe.
It asks crazy or absurd questions (what if a hole went through the entire earth. Could you jump from pole to pole?) And explains them in a scientific way. Very fun and quick read.
Anything by Mary Roach.
Bad Astronomy by Phil Plait.
Nonfiction books about history and science that I have liked:
* The Ghost Map by Steven Johnson. About the history of epidemiology and how waterborne disease was first discovered.
* Your Inner Fish by Neal Shubin, about the history of life on evolutionary time scales
* Darwin Comes to Town by Menno Schilthuizen. About urban wildlife.
A Short History of Everything by Bill Bryson.
Fun and informative !
