I just finished my first Christie book and somehow I chose one thats not a mystery novel. Part of me feels cheated, how the hell did the one i grabbed off the shelf turn out to be a break from form?
Its a perfectly fine spy novel and has some great aspects to it, but for such a prolific writer of a certain genre, I somehow picked up this one. I avoided ones that were made movies since I knew the ending.
Part of me wonders if its almost poetic to get bait-and-switched so many years after her time by her own library. Overall its a good spy thriller, and from what Ive seen in film it has some of her calling cards as far as structure goes.
Hilary is a pretty fun protaganist. Would recommend, but how the hell did I not get the classic “6 people, one body, one house” Christie just pulling one off the shelf at the store
