Suggest me a wilderness fiction story

When I was a kid I loved books like Where the Red Fern Grows and Touching Spirit Bear, anything about being in the wilderness. I’m looking for something on that theme for an adult. Maybe not necessarily as sad as those books, but a fiction about survival. Thanks!
