Hello!
First time posting here. Title says it all. I am looking to read more books (or ideally, **series**!!!) that either focus on, or prominently feature, amazing, complex women. I am not too particular about a genre, but I don’t want romance to be the *main* plot. I really enjoy thrillers, mysteries and dramas, but have also enjoyed historical fiction and sci-fi/fantasy a lot in the past.
Some of my favourites that come to mind when I think about iconic women include:
* Big Little Lies
* The Alice Network
* Little Fires Everywhere
* The Help
* I’m Glad My Mom Died (not fiction I realize, but still an incredible read).
These are all examples of books where I found myself wanting to know more about these characters. I wish they were all parts of lengthy series. These women are inspiring, complicated, brave and strong. They are also human, and make mistakes, which I appreciate.
I am a big fan of authors like Ruth Ware, J.D. Robb and Lise Gardner. I also really enjoyed the Villanelle series and the Girl With the Dragon Tattoo series, although written by men. I read James Patterson’s Women’s Murder Club series when I was younger also. The Harry Hole series by Jo Nesbø is another one of my recent favourites, but I am sick of reading about men. A few other authors that I have also enjoyed, just to give a better sense of what I typically read:
* Gillian Flynn
* C.S. Pacat (the Captive Prince trilogy sucked me in completely, although focusing on men)
* Elizabeth Kay
* Layne Fargo
* Eliza Clark
* Karin Slaughter
* Paula Hawkins
* Kristi DeMeester
Any recommendations are much appreciated, but especially any longer series! Thanks in advance!
