I just finished listening to the first novel and I am like 50/50. I like the postapocalyptic setting and the flashbacks and also liked the action sequences, although they could be a bit more detailed. On the other hand, the main character is really bland and prays a little too often imo. The story in the first book was also quite boring and nothing was close to a “Wow” moment. His new friends by the end of the book are also really black and white.
