Hey there, I’m looking for books that have worlds that you can get lost in for hours at a time. The Warhammer and Battletech settings are kind of the gold standard in this regard, hundreds of books and tons of media. Outside of those I’ve gotten into the Xeelee Sequence, the Honorverse, the Halo books, the Stormlight Archives, Timeline 191, Discworld, the Humanx Commonwealth, the Bas-Lag trilogy, and the Bolo universe. Worlds with a lot of history in them.
Grounded allternate history settings are ones I’m game for too. Preferably nothing involving time travel.
