Has anyone else read A Death in the Parish and was confused by the very last word of the book? I can’t make out if the two characters have been totally misunderstanding each other or if one of them is making a very bad joke.
I was so convinced that I knew what was going on between Neil and Daniel, and Neil’s statement came as a total shock, but now I’m thinking maybe he intended it as a joke.
