I’m looking for books where utopian society faces any kind of challenge, external or internal problem (culture clash, freeriding, crimes, famine, natural disaster, alien invasion and so on and so forth) and tries to solve it. It doesn’t matter if this society succeeds in solving this problem or not.
This society doesn’t have to be absolutely perfect – if you (and/or the author) think that it’s just really good, it is enough.
The perfect example is “The Disposessed” by U. K. LeGuin. But I’m also interested in non-fiction books about how utopian societies would deal with their problems.
Thank you!
