Hello!
I am looking for a high fantasy series. I like an unexpected protagonist, preferably male and young, although that isn’t set in stone. I have recently read the Wheel of Time and I was left in awe. After that, I just cannot seem to pick up any other book. The only one that came close was the Belgariad. I loved the magic, the creatures, the characters, and the plot in both series. I have read most popular book series’. Lastly, I would not like any dystopian series’ please. Malazan, Mistborn, Elantris, all of those I have heard of, but saw that they were dystopian. I have been getting recommendations for Dragon Mage. Is it a good book? Good enough to stand up to the Wheel of Time? A concern I had was that he goes to a magic school. Does the magic school take up a lot of the book? Parts in which characters learn magic or go to school is dull for me. I prefer when they go outside and defeat the antagonist. I read Eragon before the Wheel of Time, and they were similar, so a book like Eragon is fine too.
TL;DR
Need a book to fill the void of the Wheel of Time series, alike to the Belgariad, Eragon, or WoT. Also need help for Dragon Mage series.
I know reading this and giving recommendations to it was a chore, so thanks!
