I have been doing this. Sometimes I will be in the middle of a page and it will go off and startle me. I’m trying to get back my love for reading and I have been struggling due to heavy Reddit use and I have heard of people setting a timer to only read for a set period of time until the timer goes off and then stop. Did setting a timer help you get back into reading ?

    1. I’ve never heard of that. Maybe try taking a break from Reddit and see how that affects you.

As someone who used to time themselves I wouldn’t set time limits because then all you do is think about the time and when it’ll go off. I have set page limits where in a day I tell myself to read x number of book pages minimum and if I can do more I will. It gives you a better chance to be immersed and keep reading. Pave limits would be my recommendation but you can also try putting a timer on your phone and making it vibrate instead of ringing. It won’t jump-scare you as bad.
