Newbie needs a suggestion

Hi I’ve Only read animal farm , Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde , And a big chunck of complete books on Sherlock Holmes and hercule poirot, but I couldn’t finish 1984 as i found it too Outdated, in same way i didn’t like the plot twist in Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde as I’m from a time when people have imagined better twists in stories. I want a good horror or mystery book suggestion avoiding the old Classics pls like canterville ghost or invisible man they were too boring for me . give me A book with great story and unpredictable ending which leaves me in Awe
