I’ve recently picked up reading as a hobby and I’m looking for books that tackle the themes of social ineptitude.
Some of the books I’ve liked are “The Metamorphosis” by Franz Kafka and “The Stranger” by Albert Camus.
I was thinking of reading “The Double” by Dostoevskij but I’m not sure if it’s a good read for a novice.
Because I’m a beginner I would prefer reading books that aren’t too lengthy. I read in my native language so I appreciate suggestions of well-known books that have had translations in multiple languages.

Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fine
For Dostoyevsky I suggest ‘the Idiot’ would be more to the point.
Otherwise Graeme Simsian: the Rosie Project is about a highfunctioning autistic type.
