This is something that I notice changed for me later into adulthood. I used to never even consider reading them. As a kid, I viewed them as obligatory end-of-book fluff. As I aged, I became way more fascinated in the process and mindset of authors. As I myself became more interested in writing, I started liking acknowledgements for often providing little anecdotes as to what when on behind the scenes.
As a child, I thought nobody read them (I had such a limited view of people outside myself), but now I’m wondering if lots of people do and if it’s for my reasons. Do those of you who like writing read them? And, if you do, did the interest also come with age?

Sometimes, but more out of inertia than actually paying much attention to them. Kind of like how sometimes I’ll watch movie credits because I can’t be bothered to change the channel.
Not always, but yes I do. Especially if I liked the book, and didn’t want it to end. So acknowledgements feel like prolonging the book just a little more.
