Hi everybody I just finished 3 body problem on Netflix and I realy liked it. Are books so interesting like the series ?

Also I would like to know if I decide to read the books Should I start with the second book ( dark Forest ) or I will have to start from the fisrt book ( 3 body problem ) despite that I watched the series .

    1. The books are about ideas. I would recommend reading all three.

The Netflix show is different. Primarily, it is about characters (many of whom aren’t in the book, or behave differently). I enjoyed it a lot and will continue to watch, if they make more — but the show is not a substitute for the grand ideas in the book so far. Furthermore, *The Dark Forest* contains some of the biggest and best ideas in all of science fiction, IMO. The show will likely capture the spectacle, but TV simply isn’t the best format to examine these ideas. For instance the first book spends many chapters on the titular “three body problem,” while the show casts it off as “impossible to solve” within about thirty seconds of presenting it, for fear of boring viewers to death with math problems.
