I’m about a fifth of the way in to The Fifth Witness. I read Presumed Innocent earlier this year and loved it, so I wanted to get in to some more legal thrillers. I heard Lincoln Lawyer was solid so I decided to pick up Fifth Witness.
But damn. I can’t stand Mickey Haller. I’m not going to pretend like Rusty Sabich is a good person or even nice all the time, but I think it was still possible to root for him throughout, but Mickey Haller is just a relentless asshole, especially to his client.
Lisa sucks and so does herb. I don’t like them and were I in Haller’s position I would be frustrated too, but his berating is becoming a little much. I think some of the insults are supposed to come off as funny but they really aren’t.
Im struggling to decide whether I should go on with this book, let alone this series.
