So it seems like fantasy books set in different universes are the norm, with their own world maps. That being said, there’s plenty of fantasy set in our universe as well (Harry Potter, etc.).
For sci-fi it usually is the opposite, where the norm is to be set in our universe way into the future. But I can’t for the life of me think of any sci-fi books that are set in different universes. Even like Dune is our universe just 10,000 years in the future. Are there any series’ you can think of that are not in our universe at all? No earth, completely different planets. The only one that comes to mind right now is Star Wars. Anything else?
