I want to read a book that was written by a researcher who was interested in some particuar thing in nature and wrote interesting book about it with interesting facts and maybe history of the subject. It could be a book about pines, book about ocean tides, book about flying fish. Hopefully a normal size book, not a thin magazine style.

    1. “Venomous: How Earth’s Deadliest Creatures Mastered Biochemistry” by Christie Wilcox is just a good, clean deep-dive into how venoms evolved and function. She doesn’t fall into the pop science trap of exaggerating and over-extrapolating, she just clearly walks you through some cool facts about venom, and explains how we know it. I’ve heard good reviews from biologists and non-biologists.
