So I’m kind of new to reading again after stopping once high school finished and i decided to read books i had liked when i was younger. Some simple stuff like the Percy Jackson series and Harry Potter. After finishing these I wanted more advanced stuff and landed on the Red Rising series. The first 2 i think are flawless but the last three (Morning Star, Iron Gold and Dark Age) are just overfilled i think with space opera sci-fi jargon that jumbled my brain too much. So my question is, is there some sci fi out there thats a little less jargony im not sure?

    Ive also read

    Steelheart series
    Superpowereds
    World War Z
Worm (although i kinda ran into the same jargon issue with this one)

Try Devolution by Max Brooks. It’s different from
WWZ and shorter but has the same energy
