I never read it, but “Wild” by Cheryl Strayed is, if I recall correctly, about the author’s battle with serious addiction issues that are aggravated by a death in the family.

I really liked The girl in the green dress and tiger tiger. Both of these detail sexual abuse of children and are extremely tough reads, but they are also very insightful and well written. I’ve also been meaning to read the center cannot hold because it’s been recommended to me. Go ask Alice has also been one of my favorite books for years.
