The past few books I’ve read, along g with a 1 liner to say what I thought of it.
Foundation by asimov – shallow and poor character development
Count of monte cristo by dumas – a real page turner that kept me hooked, but rather anticlimactic
Flowers for algernon – nice read, entertaining, and good for it’s time, but not as amazing/poignant as this reddit makes it out to be
Norwegian wood by murakami – nice read, definitely overhyped on this reddit
Oliver twist by dickens – nice read, read it for 19th century london descriptions and matching current day locations
Project hail mary by weir – amazing. Very Holmes esque using knowledge from physics and bio to walk through and solve a major problem. One of best reads I’ve competed in long time
Never let me go by ishuguro is poorly written, and I would rather read ochem as I found it more interesting
Based on these, can anyone offer a good suggestion. I am open to genre.

The house at the end of night. I read it after a few
Trips to Italy, it’s very comforting, a palate cleanser
Birnham Wood, a solid very contemporary thriller
Icehenge Kim Stanley Robinson – great sci fi with lots of science (more on the archaeology, sociology, medicine end this time)
[‘The Bees’](https://www.waterstones.com/book/the-bees/laline-paull/9780007557745) by Laline Paull. Has a likeable protagonist, a vividly described setting and world, plenty of action and intrigue, and a satisfying ending.
