I think what I’m looking for is a good book that happens to have a love story in it. I keep finding books that have too much romance and a crap story or lots of angst and build up only to wait for the last 20 pages for romance. What books have the perfect amount of angst and romance but also tell a good story?

I’m reading Sweetbitter right now and it feels like this. A twisted romance but super focused on coming of age and food and early aughts NY. Also: Such A Fun Age by Kiley Reid, The Storied Life of A.J. Fikry, Intimacies by Katie Kitamura
