I’m trying to get back into reading with my kindle and want something that I can’t put down.
Sci-fi books I’ve read and enjoyed:
Dune and Dune Messiah
Hyperion
The Martian
Ender’s Game
And I tried reading Embassytown but it was really confusing and I ended up dropping it.

Each installment has a different tone and direction but the overall narrative ties them together. Dune was a huge inspiration.
I’m really fond of The Ship Who Sang by Anne McCaffrey. It was a short scifi book that has a few in a small series that got me into the genre in the first place.
Try Saturn Run by John Sandford and Ctein. It’s a thriller and first contact story, all rolled into one. Entertaining and fast moving.
Recursion by Blake Crouch
The unwind series by Neal schusterman by far the absolute best science fiction story that I’ve ever heard
I also really enjoyed tunnels by Roderick Gordon and Brian Williams
The city of ember is also amazing
Project hail Mary by Andy weir. Since you enjoyed the Martian. I’ve read both books as well and enjoyed them both.
All You Need is Kill by Hiroshi Sakurazaka
Iron Widow by Xiran Jay Zhao
I’m reading **We Have Always Been Here** by Lena Nguyen right now. I’m about 3/4 of the way through it and it’s really kept my attention/can’t put down. It’s been a while since I’ve been this engrossed in a book. Fingers crossed for a good ending.
