I guess not dissimilar to the plot of Planescape Torment. I don’t necessarily mean they are amnesiac to the fantasy like some “isekai” thing. I mean like, within the setting they’re Jason Bourne in the sense that they wake up and don’t remember anything, then find out oh shit he’s some runaway prince, some cult is after him, etc.
Usually these amnesia stories I’ve seen happen in modern-ish settings so I thought it would be interesting as a fantasy book.
