I am losing my mind trying to remember the name of a book I read in the early 2000s Ave was HOPING that someone knows what I’m talking about. It was my favorite book that I had read maybe 10x and now I’m trying to find it again.
So basically the premise is (as I can remember) is there is this family the towns people fear are witches and so the daughter is kinda a loner. Then there is a guy who comes seeking help for his family’s curse. In order to fix the curse, they have to go back in time to stop the curse from being placed which was back sometime in midevil England. So the family opens a portal and they go back in time, pretending to be distantly related to the guys family. I remember a specific part where she was going to have a hard time fitting in because her hands were smooth and didn’t have the calluses of working women so there was a comment about her probably getting from noble birth.
If anyone has any idea of what this book is called, please for the love of all things right in this world help a lady out.
