So I’ve been going through an old family house and been finding books in the attic and rooms going back late 1800s all of which haven’t been touched in at least 30 or 40 years minimum including some brought back by my grandfather and his brother who were in WW1 and WW2 individually.. My aunt had an amazing collection but she’s been out of the house over 40 years and the house was built in the late 1800s so there’s stuff in the Attic that’s been there way before I was born in 82. I was wondering if anybody had advice on going about finding which books are rare or what to do in general?
Should I make a list or take photos and email them to book dealers or contact a bookstore or somebody who specializes in rare books. I live in CT. Not sure if I can post photos of books on here but if anybody has advice on any direction I should go, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
