Looking for something along the lines of, Joe ledger series and either cotton Malone or something similar. The ledger series is about a former cop turned secret government team going after bioweapons, aliens, crazy shit like that. Legit a book about clones, zombies, aliens, tech that control people, stuff like that. But instead of that maybe more of the Malone series, of hunting for historical artifacts. Malone is literally the same book with different characters, Clive Cussler is too many books and too old of a series. I tried Sean Wyatt series but it got too formulaic.

I have not read any of these books or authors, but from the description you give, you may like books by these authors:
* Sarah Pinsker
* Blake Crouch
* Peter Clines
All three have a similar action-y thriller type of writing style, in near future sci fi settings.
