I’ve been reading to kids lately and forgot how pleasant picture books felt! There is something different about reading them, it’s very nostalgic. I like comic books too but, it really isn’t the same.
I prefer fantasy and scifi stories. Both fluffy and dark stories are fine.

Oddkins by Dean Koontz! It was hard to find for a while, but I think it’s available in ebook now.

Not sure if this is exactly what you’re looking for but I know they’ve illustrated a good chunk of the Harry Potter series at this point and the art is really beautiful!
There’s a Coraline graphic novel that’s excellent!

Digger by Ursula Vernon, it’s beautiful and intricate.
