I love a twisty psychological mystery/thriller/crime. Lisa Jewell is one of my favourite authors in this space.
I’ve recently discovered Lesley Wolfe, and think their books stack up pretty well.
Previously I’ve tried Frieda McFadden, Shalini Boland, Shari Lapena – who I find fine enough, but think they have quite a pedestrian writing style (but ok concepts that keep the story moving).
Looking for more authors (ideally ones with a bigger back catalog I can jump into) who have clever twisty ideas as well as being well written or written well enough that the clunky writing doesn’t interfere with the pace of the story.
