I love psychological thrillers, something like Rebecca by Daphne Dumaurier but contemporary. I’ve also read The Last Mrs Parrish. That kind of thing. Bonus points for exotic settings! Thank you!

Well…dark and twisty love triangle makes me think of the Flowers Quartet by V.C Andrews. They’re old books now, written in the 1970s iirc, and they haven’t aged well politically or socially (sexism, misogyny, racism, etc). And the triangle is dark BC it’s partly incestuous. They’re morally grey books but they really lean into it, so they’re also greatly entertaining.

Some other trigger warnings if you’re thinking of reading this series:

      Child abuse & neglect
      Sibling death
      Rape
      Sexual assault
      Hebophilia
      Big age gap
      Suicide
      Elder Abuse
      Stalking

There’s probably more tbh. Like I said, fucked up material. But still, they’ve entertained me periodically for a decade now. I’ve read the entire series 5 or 6 times. The ending satisfies me.
