I used to read a LOT as a kid (to the point that it was my defining trait/concerning lol). I eventually got busy with school and didn’t have as much time for reading but I want to get back into it so I have something more productive to do with my free time. I’d prefer shorter reads since I’m the type to read a book all in one go otherwise I’d spend my entire day thinking about it.
The last proper book I read was The Love and Lies of Rukhsana Ali which I loved (I’m also South Asian and trying to learn more about my culture, and I had tried to get into South Asian literature in the past but the language was a bit too advanced for me).
As a kid I read a lot of fantasy and sci-fi (think Harry Potter, Percy Jackson, the Lunar Chronicles, etc.). I plan on rereading the Hunger Games since a lot of the story went over my 13-year-old self’s head, and I wouldn’t mind getting into more sci-fi (though I don’t know many short sci-fi books that exist lol).
Above all, I think I’d want to read more contemporary books and newer releases, just because I feel like I’m mentally stuck in my childhood library if that makes sense lol. I know I gave a lot of varied areas of interest but I’m open to just about anything I can get my hands on. Thanks in advance everyone.
