I LOVE mystery books, and books that have the reader solve some sort of puzzle. I specifically like the ones where all available information is presented, and it’s up to the reader to figure it out. I’m not as big a fan of the ones where the twist comes from the character knowing info that isn’t presented to the reader. I just finished Magpie Murders and while it was fine, part of the solution relied a bit too much on information not known to the reader. I also recently read Rock Paper Scissors which I thoroughly enjoyed even if it was a little simple.

To make an already long post short, I’m looking for the most brain burning, “holy fuck I’m god for figuring this out” books that exist. Doesn’t necessarily have to be mystery, just something that keeps the reader thinking, pondering, and trying to figure something out.

When you read for a while, you will think that I gave you a bad recommendation with this, but I did not. 🙂
