I’ve read mostly horrors/thrillers/crime novels my entire life. Recently, I realized I LOVE historical fiction. What’s a good book that combines the two? The two I loved that I think fit this category are In Cold Blood and Bright Young Women (obviously more crime than horror).
Some historical fiction I loved:
– The Women by Kristin Hannah
– The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo by Taylor Jenkins Reid
Some horror/thriller/crime I loved:
– Billy Summers by Stephen King
– The Shining by Stephen King
– Watchers by Dean Koontz
– First Lie Wins by Ashley Elston

The Alienist by Caleb Carr, a historical, psychological, crime thriller.
Lyndsay Faye has a fair few novels that fall in this category! I’ve read The Gods of Gotham and The Paragon Hotel both and really enjoyed them—the first is set in NYC in 1845, the latter one in Portland in 1921.
Maybe the [Pentecost and Parker](https://app.thestorygraph.com/books/eb8c7ae9-41b0-442b-b3f1-8e01870fe219) mystery series by Stephen Spotswood?
