Hi! I am an avid reader and will read just about anything. I want to jump into the murder mystery genre but without Agatha Christie. No offense to her or her work, but I would like something more modern.
Google suggestions include:
My Sister, the Serial Killer;
One of Us Is Lying;
The Mother-in-Law
Thanks for any and all suggestions.

The Maid
Sweetness at the Bottom of the Pie
The Beekeepers Apprentice
Number 1 Detectives Agency
One for the Money
The Spellman Files
(The books you named aren’t bad, but I don’t think of them as Agatha style mysteries. Loved My Sister the Serial Killer though – super different!)
Wilkie Collins – loved {The Moonstone}, I have {The Woman in white} on my list.
* The Thursday Murder Club series – bunch of oldies solving crime
* Shari Lapena writes cozy mysteries. Her books feels like modern version of Agatha Christie books. I’ve read An Unwanted Guest and Not a Happy Family. I liked An Unwanted Guest much better
Everyone In My Family had Killed Someone was quite fun
