Seems like its unrelated, but i just saw a video pop up on my youtube of a guy i used to follow talking about why gaming isn’t fun anymore. I watched the video and i agreed with basically everything, just not for gaming but for reading.
Even though we have so many amazing new books coming out and older literature is still out there ready to be read, i find myself not enjoying vast majority of it. I had a time where i tried everything reddit / google suggested from reading other genres, to reading other subgenres, to completely stop reading for a time, to listening to audiobooks, to read from e-books, to set a daily goal, to read a little every day, to… and none of it really worked. I do enjoy a book every now and then nowadays but its far and few between. The thing that made reading \*special\* is just gone now for most books i pick up.
With so many people subscribed to this subreddit there has to be a few here who are like me / were like me. I still read and maybe even participate in some discussions over books, but actively reading them? Haven’t done that in a couple of years. Does anyone feel the same / has felt the same? I am curious to hear your experience 😀
