I deleted TikTok and Instagram from my phone and I am trying to replace that by reading more.
The one book I was able to finish in 2-3 days was: Nearly all the men in lagos are mad by Damilare Kuku. Part of the reason why I was able to finish it is because it is a short story collection. Therefore, it felt like the TikTok of reading where I could get stories that were short and entertaining and move on to the next. So, for now, to ease into reading I would love some recommendations for short story collections, short books, or books that are so good that even my dopamine-fried brain can’t resist putting it down.
The genres I tend to read are
\- self-help
\- romance
However, I would love to branch out and I’m particularly interested in reading more stories from various corners of the world as well as historical fiction, and comedy.
I am currently reading The sex lives of African Woman by Nana Darkoa Sekyiamah, which is also a short story collection and has been a great read so far.
