By “newer” I mean books released in the past five to ten years, but I’m open to something older if it’s something you’d highly recommend.
I’m struggling to find a really good, adult, high fantasy, romance series that actually has grown-ass protagonists, preferably a heroine lead. A lot of the more famous series’ that I see (authors like Sarah J Maas for instance) have main characters that are in their late teens/very early 20’s and it just doesn’t appeal to me. I want a protagonist that I can relate to (mid 20’s and older). Preferably written by a female author but not limited to. I’m looking for gore, drama, humor, spicey romances, and an intriguing world and plot.
Now that I type it out it seems like a lot to ask for lol Any suggestions are appreciated!
