I used to love reading, but at some point I started reading less and less, until I stopped completely. I really miss it, but I can’t seem to get into it again. My mind always wanders off, I can’t pay attention, and it feels like I don’t have that specific “patience” for books anymore. I used to read like 50 books per year, and it really sucks that nowadays I can’t even read the back cover without getting bored. I tried re-reading my favourite books, but somehow that didn’t work either. My mind feels neglected and I feel dumb.

So I thought maybe this sub could help. Suggest me a book that could reignite my love for reading. I love contemporary literature, deep existential topics, a bit of absurdity and weirdness, engaging writing style, and possibly zero clichés.

If it’s any help, here are some of my favourite books:

    * One Never Knows by Imma Monsó
    * The Red Lion by Mária Szepes
    * The Extraordinary Journey of the Fakir Who Got Trapped in an IKEA Wardrobe by Romain Puértolas
    * Il poema dei lunatici by Ermanno Cavazzoni (couldn’t find an English version so it probably hasn’t been translated, I read it in Hungarian since that’s my mother tongue)
    * Sacred and Terrible Air by Robert Kurvitz
    * The Beggar and the Hare by Tuomas Kyrö
    * The Particular Sadness of Lemon Cake by Aimee Bender

Also, if you have any advice or had a similar struggle in the past, I would love to hear about your experience!

    Thank you all in advance!

1)Curious case of the dog in the night time is a pretty great book.
2)Everything everything- Nicola yoon . It’s a romantic book but it’s not traditional romance .
