I’m looking for an engaging fiction book aimed at adults with strong character arcs and limited sexual content. I’ve read too many books where sex feels shoehorned in and takes me out of the story, and I’m over weirdly-specific descriptions of female characters’ breasts. If it’s not explicit and truly serves the story/characters that’s fine (one of my recent favorites involved a surprise paternity reveal), but I’ve never enjoyed reading detailed descriptions of other people having sex. Any genre or length is fine (except maybe super dense sci-fi/fantasy), as long as it keeps me turning pages.

Like all classic literature
All Creatures Great and Small by James Herriot
Pretty much any Discworld book
I love Gillian Bradshaw’s work; there is some sex sometimes, but never explicit.
So many! A Darker Shade of Magic (urban fantasy), Fever House (horror), The Warehouse (dystopian light scifi), The Good Luck Girls (western fantasy), The Serpent King (contemporary fiction), Johannes Cabal the Necromancer (horror fantasy), City of Thieves (historical fiction). I could on!
