I’ve recently gotten into reading some Splatterpunk. I’m looking for something truly sick that makes you uncomfortable and gives you that uneasy feeling in the pit of your stomach. I was recommended to read Aron Beauregard and Eric LaRocca. I’ve read a handful of both of their most popular titles, but the writing reads way too much like a fan fiction to me.
For example, I really enjoyed the idea of Playground, but to me it sounded like it was written by a 16 year old boy. The language, especially during some of the sexual encounters just made me laugh because of how ridiculous the writing sounded.
