Looking for a book (ideally a series) with an original, well-written post-apocalyptic setting, but without the “overthrowing the corrupt government” plot or one mighty special MC who saves them all. Basically, about regular people trying to survive in a fucked up world (doesn’t sound so fictional rn…), and fighting tough living conditions (lack of resources, radiation, disease), rather than an oppressive system.
So more of a ‘Metro-2033’ and ‘The Fifth Season’ than ‘Red Rising’ and ‘Wool/Silo’. Bonus points for adult characters, like actual adults not YA.
Thank you!
