    **The Problem**

Some variation of this shows up every other week. *What book does everyone like that you hate?* or *What book was recommended to you that you didn’t like?* or *What book is overhyped?*. There’s one now on the front page framed around critical acclaim, with the posts second sentence being *Which book in your life was the biggest let down?*.

And I knew the answers up top before even clicking on it: ACOTAR, something by Colleen Hoover, Tomorrow and Tomorrow and Tomorrow, Fourth Wing, Addie LaRou, Midnight Library, something by Andy Weir, Lessons In Chemistry, This Is How We Lose The Time War, Ready Player One, The Alchemist, Atlas Shrugged. Throw in a few classics too, usually Catcher In The Rye, Wuthering Heights, 100 Years of Solitude, Ulysses, and Infinite Jest. The regularity of these answers is sometimes incredible, and is the sign that this discussion has become very stale.

To be clear, I don’t fault users for doing this, repetitive posts just happen on forums and are sometimes a sign that moderation is needed for the issue (I think the mods do a good job here with promoting good discussion generally, btw).

    **Proposed Solution**

Make this a quarterly or biannual pinned thread. People love to talk about it, and the answers do change a bit periodically. People will have new books to complain about by the end of the summer. But I don’t think it needs to be top of the page multiple times each month.

    **What do we think?**

Maybe it’s just me. What are your thoughts on this?
