I feel like this is a recurring question however, I have yet to find anything that is in the realm of what I’m looking for. I am a huge Harry Potter fan… I have read several other young adult series such as mortal instruments, a discovery of witches, twilight and hunger games. While these were fine… I’m an adult (lol) and definitely want more adult content- that being said I’ve read the Sookie Stackhouse series, and the Anita Blake series (didn’t finish because it got too wild lol) I’ve of course read 50 shades and more recently the Crescent City series. I really enjoyed the Crescent City series and have pre ordered the third book. Any suggestions on some other series that can begin? I really enjoyed the slow burn of Crescent series… however as an example while discovery of witches was a great story – I found it lacking with the adult content. And of course like many others 50 had plenty of scenes but 100% not realistic lol.

So help me out book fans! Give me something to occupy my time or a new series to fall in love with!

    1. Try Ilona Andrews (3 urban fantasy series):

      1. Magic Bites (Kate Daniels)—alternate Atlanta that suffers from magic/tech “waves and crashes.” Main character is a swordswoman with a mysterious past. Other main character is leader of the shapeshifter pack.

      2. Burn For Me (Hidden Legacy)—magical/psychic families fight for power in Texas. Main character is in charge of her family’s PI firm. Other main character is an infamous telekinetic. Most romance in this one.

      3. Clean Sweep (Innkeeper)—science fantasy series about a magical innkeeper of a magical inn for aliens, +missing parents. Lightest series, still some violence/action.

    2. If by adult content, you mean romance and relationships, then I’m not sure these are for you, but if by adult content you mean that the characters have to deal with real stakes, death, and mature themes, then you might try:

*Gideon the Ninth -* Lesbian necromancers investigate a haunted space mansion to attempt to find a secret that will allow them to ascend to godhood

*A Deadly Education -* A young witch with big powers is at a Harry Potter-esque school where 25% of the students are murdered every year by demons that get past the school’s defenses. Kids keep coming because it’s safer than being outside.
