My SIL & I do a monthly surprise book challenge and this month is based off the other’s first name. I sent her a thriller last month so I want to send her something of a different genre this month, but most of the book I’m finding written by an Alex that seem interesting are thrillers. Any suggestions??

What about Ninth House by Leigh Bardugo? The main character is Alex. It’s kind of a dark academia book with a little horror/fantasy. I liked it!

*Roots* or *The Autobiography of Malcolm X* by Alex Haley
*Alexander Hamilton* by Ron Chernow
A Clockwork Orange
The Bronze Horseman by Paulina Simons. WWII historical fiction, but from a Russian citizen perspective. I went in skeptical but ended up really liking it.
Editing: main male character is Alexander
