Like every anime fan with an account on Goodreads and TheStoryGraph, I used to rate the books I’ve readed from 1 to 10.
However, there came a time when I realized that rating with numbers felt kind of silly, so since then I don’t rate my books, but instead put them into one of the following categories:
I love, I would read again, It’s okay, Neither love nor hate, Who are you?, Waste of time and Hate.
What about you guys: do you rate or did you stop rating?

most of the medium that I consume I just have 3 rates:
like it–would read again,
meh–maybe read again if there’s nothing else,
dislike it–won’t read again.
I’ve never rated a book. Either I like it or not. Books are too complex to boil down to a mere number. Two “5” books would never really be equal. There are too many factors.
I like to write a small review for myself. Numbers and ranking is often very silly.
I rate. And I use the numbers to remind myself if I liked something or not lol.
Yeah, I rate them out of 5, unless I feel like a rating doesn’t matter. Something like “would read again” wouldn’t work for me, I don’t go back to reread things very often. There’s too much to discover.
